Easy to install. Senses Wa er due to leaks or rain waters. Another Shelly well designed item Highly recommended. Gives a daily update to let me know it is operating

I use these with Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT

Overall: Excellent device if somewhat expensive if you don't need WiFi. Cable detects moisture very quickly.

Pros:

- Fully supported by Zigbee2MQTT

- Sensor cable is very sensitive. A single drop of water can trigger it

- Uses standard AA batteries

- Connects quickly and stably to the Zigbee network

Cons:

- Fairly bulky compared to other sensors

- Battery compartment is difficult to open

Neutral:

- The sensor cable is somewhat stuff. This is bad if you need to wrap it around pipes, but great if you need to fish it through a space.

- The sensor cable is non-absorbent. This makes it very sensitive to leaks and it also dries out quickly. It will work well for its stated purpose of leak detection, but may also work for areas that are expected to periodically get wet.

- Expensive if you don't need WiFi

This sensor seems to work well, but the setup for the app to work with your phone on WiFi is a pain in the bum. It took many hours to connect it, I finally had to manually connect my phone to the sensors ip address.

Overall well designed. Installation on my matter (HomeKit) network was successful with no issues. However once installed the only way to get the device to update its HomeKit status was by pressing the button. Filed a bug with Shelly support which worked with me for a days but they were not able to resolve the issue after 3 weeks. As such returned both units. May work well on Zigbee but is not reliable on a Matter/Wifi network.

it connected to Google Home easily but could not stay connected. it connected to Hubitat via zigbee and also via matter but was not recognized as a water leak detector.

One week installed alarm is blaring because a spider made a web across the conductors. Mehhhhh

Can’t get the app to even see my WiFi network, even when it is limited to 2.4 GHz. No problems connecting anything else to my network.

I've used Shelly products for many years and have some Gen 1 products that are quite old. Gen 1 products were exceptional, Gen 2 products were ok, Gen 3 products did not perform well at all and now this Gen 4 product is horrible. Hopefully they will understand that they continue to de-value the products...

Installato funziona perfettamente, si è subito integrato nella mia domotica con Home Assistant e in pochi passaggi ho aggiunto la parte di programma che gli gestisce.

Ho verificato con dell'acqua la funzionalità, adesso Alexa mi avverte se ci sono delle perdite d'acqua.

Great product better for under cabinet monitoring because the electronics can be mounted in the cupboard above, this makes battery changes easier, also the measurement cable will monitor a larger area that the shelly flood sensor. Reasonable price for such a well built unit. Shelly really make some great products well done.

I installed the Shelly flood sensor about 4 months ago along the bottom of the airing cupboard. It's a concrete floor with wood flooring in the hallway and unfortunately the hot water cylinder has previously failed and leaked. Installation was straightforward. The unit was mounted inside the airing cupboard with the wire trailed across the floor. I paired the sensor to the Shelly app (I have Shelly also for wifi light switches). I poured a small amount of water on the floor and the alarm sounded with alert showing on the app. I've not had any false alarms and the sensor is also showing in Samsung smart-things. Hopefully it should do its job if ever there is a leak!

Ich nutze den Shelly Flood Gen4 im Sickerschacht meines Technikraums – also genau an einem Ort, an dem man Alarm wirklich *rechtzeitig* braucht. Vor der finalen Montage habe ich verschiedene Tests gemacht, um Verhalten, Erkennung und Konfiguration zu verstehen. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden.

EINRICHTUNG & ALLTAG

Die Einbindung war bei mir schnell und unkompliziert. Besonders positiv: Der Sensor geht sehr sparsam mit Energie um und verbindet sich nicht dauerhaft mit WLAN, sondern nur bei Bedarf bzw. auf Anforderung (z.B. per Knopfdruck). Das ist in der Praxis ein sinnvoller Ansatz, wenn man eine lange Batterielaufzeit erreichen will – gerade für schwer zugängliche Stellen wie Schächte, Keller oder unter Geräten.

KONFIGURATION & FUNKTIONEN

Trotz „Batteriegerät“ ist der Flood Gen4 erstaunlich umfangreich konfigurierbar. Ich finde es hilfreich, dass man nicht nur auf eine App angewiesen ist, sondern auch über ein Web-Interface Einstellungen nachvollziehbar vornehmen kann. Das wirkt insgesamt sehr „technikfreundlich“ und transparent.

INTEGRATION (HOME ASSISTANT / ALARMIERUNG)

Ich betreibe das Ganze mit Home Assistant und schicke Benachrichtigungen per ntfy. Genau dafür passt der Sensor gut: Er liefert die nötigen Signale, um daraus eine eigene Alarmkette zu bauen (Push, Sirene, Automationen etc.). Die Shelly-App habe ich kurz ausprobiert: Optisch und vom Eindruck her solide – ich nutze im Alltag aber bewusst die DIY-Variante über Home Assistant.

VERARBEITUNG & EINDRUCK

Der Sensor ist handlich, wirkt haptisch gut und insgesamt hochwertig verarbeitet. Gerade bei Geräten, die man im Ernstfall braucht, ist dieser „solide“ Eindruck nicht zu unterschätzen.

FAZIT

Für meinen Anwendungsfall (Sickerschacht/Technikraum + Home Assistant + eigene Alarmierung) ist der Shelly Flood Gen4 ein sehr stimmiges Gesamtpaket: sparsam im Betrieb, flexibel konfigurierbar und gut integrierbar. Wenn man einen Wassermelder sucht, der nicht nur „piepst“, sondern sauber ins Smart Home passt, ist das hier aus meiner Sicht eine klare Empfehlung.

Je le trouve vraiment très efficace. Je l’utilise avec HomeKit, et il agit sur une multiprise HomeKit. Je l’ai programmé pour couper la pompe de mon aquarium dès qu’il détecte une fuite d’eau, tout en allumant mon appartement en rouge pour m’alerter.

Dans cet usage, il remplit parfaitement son rôle et apporte une vraie tranquillité d’esprit.
