Redesign merge request report widgets
This epic contains all of the work needed to understand and polish the current iteration of all merge request widgets, preparing the foundations for a larger redesign and setting design guidelines for them.
As this [research synthesis](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/18BAZhPyNfbA81YhdCCR6BbvNMA0R224cF5nq8CUSB9k/edit#slide=id.g29a70c6c35_0_68) shows, we don't know enough about how each widget is used and if the current design is effective and usable.
## Goals
### Now
A [follow-up research](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/ux-research/-/issues/1362) to the [research synthesis](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/ux-research/-/issues/1099) aims to answer the open questions. See the [research synthesis summary slide deck](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/18BAZhPyNfbA81YhdCCR6BbvNMA0R224cF5nq8CUSB9k/edit#slide=id.g29a70c6c35_0_68).
### Short-term
**Related KR issue for Q2**: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/www-gitlab-com/-/issues/11204#-polish-ui-and-text-of-mr-widgets
1. Visual improvements to the MR widgets. Typography, links, headings, no updates to the larger structure, look and feel only. Implementation would then be shared by the different groups that contribute to the MR widgets.
1. Continue the visual exploration work from https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/299195#breakdown (points 3 and 4).
1. Groom the low-hanging fruit issues from the MR async critique in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/ux-research/-/issues/1073#related-issues
1. Perhaps other UI polish issues for the MR widgets lingering in the issue tracker.
1. Document in Pajamas a standard way of designing for these widgets.
### Mid to long-term
With the research insights, understand the next actions. Possibly rethinking how all of the widgets are designed and used today.
