Master Your Career with USC Online

The flexibility to participate in lectures when I was available, or to watch recorded sessions at a later time, was a phenomenal experience. With the demands of the military and frequent moving, I thought I would never be able to complete a program at USC but DEN@Viterbi far exceeded my expectations and enabled me to complete a master’s degree while on active duty.

I believe that DEN@Viterbi students have the opportunity to get just the same quality of education as an on-campus student, if not more. The DEN@Viterbi program allowed me to jump-start my career and I think taking classes while gaining work experience without a location constraint was the best use of my time.

Before I started USC’s MSPM program, I was unsure about the connection I would have from learning in a virtual classroom. What emerged was countless hours of project management related discussions that I shared with faculty and peers. I highly commend USC for establishing a platform that cultivates learning and such a tight-knit community.

[The Academy] helped me so much, the different professors that I get to meet and run my idea by, and the support that they've given me, it's been really amazing. They're there for you because they want to see you succeed and that's some advice you'd have to pay a lot of money for if you were just a regular entrepreneur looking for a consultant.

The program has allowed me to meet people from all over the U.S. and the world. I really enjoy having the flexibility to learn on a schedule which works best for me while also allowing me to work and balance other aspects of my life. My favorite class thus far has been Introduction to Global Health with Dr. Withers. I enjoyed learning about her career and research along with the many interesting topics within Global Health. I started creating miniatures in 2018 because it was difficult for me to find miniature magnets of Vietnamese food. I am from Hue (a smaller city than Saigon and Hanoi) so it was even harder to find items of food from my hometown. I figured I would save money and would be able to pick up another hobby if I tried creating them myself. I have always loved working with my hands so I was able to pick it up quickly. Creating miniature foods led me to where I am today creating other types of miniatures and dioramas. When I found the UN list of observed International Days, I felt that I could really make a difference.
