A resume shouldn't be the thing standing between someone and a job. But for too many people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, it was. At Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey staff were spending hours reworking each one, while opportunities slipped away: resumes arrived incomplete, buried in formatting, and were hard to read. Through Microsoft's Hack4Good, Goodwill NYNJ co-created Resume Builder, an AI-powered tool that transforms scattered information into clear, professional documents in seconds. It went from idea to production in just six weeks, helping the team process 800+ resumes, save nearly 200 hours and support candidates reach interviews 25% faster. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood to survive. On World Blood Donor Day, we want to say thank you to every blood donor who helps keep communities healthy, while spotlighting Vitalant, which provides blood to patients at about 900 hospitals across the U.S., powering about 10% of the U.S. blood supply. Nationwide, Vitalant supports thousands of donation opportunities at blood drives and donation centers each year, helping ensure patients get the blood products they need, when they need them. To keep this vital work running smoothly, the organization uses Microsoft Surface devices alongside Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot to streamline device deployment and security. That means teams can get up and running faster and stay focused on supporting donors, partnering with hospitals, and delivering lifesaving care. 👉 Read the story: https://lnkd.in/eGWwT8R8

Two years ago, we launched a commitment to help rural hospitals across America strengthen their cybersecurity and embrace AI. Because communities that are often the most vulnerable to cyberattacks shouldn't be the least equipped to defend against them. Today, we're proud to share what that commitment looks like in practice: 🏥 ~850 rural hospitals supported with free and discounted cybersecurity and AI resources 🔐 515 rural hospitals now receive Microsoft nonprofit pricing, allowing then to save money at a critical time The Rural Health Resiliency Program is designed to meet rural hospitals where they are and help them build the resilience they need to keep serving their communities. And we're just getting started! If your hospital is eligible, register today: https://lnkd.in/eh9zmHwB Learn more about the program on the link in the comments below ⬇️ *The visual for this post was AI-generated.

AI is moving fast. But how we build it matters just as much as how quickly it evolves. Accessibility can’t be an afterthought: it has to be part of the foundation from the very beginning. At the Microsoft Ability Summit, we were reminded of what’s possible when innovation is designed for everyone, which opens up new ways for nonprofits to reach, support and empower their communities. Watch the video to discover the latest insights and innovations shaping what’s next 👇

This #WorldOceansDay, we’re reflecting on one of the biggest hidden dangers beneath the surface: ghost nets. Lost or abandoned fishing nets drift silently through our oceans, trapping and harming marine life. They’re incredibly difficult to spot and can take centuries to break down. By combining expert knowledge with AI, initiatives like WWF Germany's Ghost Net Project and its platform GhostNetZero.ai are helping locate these hidden nets more effectively—making it possible to protect marine ecosystems Read how experts and AI are helping uncover and remove ghost nets: https://lnkd.in/dKTc2ePP

This is what inclusive AI skilling looks like in practice. Deadly Coders is proving that when technology is designed around culture and community, it doesn't just teach skills but also opens doors. It's one of many initiatives powered by Microsoft's commitment to help three million Australians build workforce-ready AI skills by 2028 — and a powerful example of what happens when technology is built around people, culture, and purpose. 📖 Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eQNSbgin

We’re proud to stand alongside Code.org as it begins its next chapter as CodeAI — a nonprofit dedicated to expanding equitable access to AI education. New research shows that 75% of students want AI education, but only 8% are getting it in school. Closing that gap is about more than technology — it’s about equity, access, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive in an AI-powered world. For more than 13 years, Microsoft has been proud to support this mission alongside Code.org, helping expand access to computer science education for students everywhere. As CodeAI, that work continues — with an even greater focus on digital fluency, from computer science and AI to data literacy and ethical understanding. Through the work of nonprofits like CodeAI, we’re seeing what’s possible when communities, educators, and organizations come together to create more inclusive pathways to learning. To the students, educators, and advocates driving this forward: thank you. We’re excited for what comes next. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/e-8vC9Mf
AI is reshaping every part of students' lives before any school has decided what they should understand about it. Today, we're becoming CodeAI. The question for this generation isn't whether they'll use AI. It's whether they'll understand it, direct it, question it, and create with it. That's digital fluency — built on computer science, AI science, and data science. It's what gives students agency over the systems shaping their lives, instead of being shaped by them. Our mission hasn't changed: every student, every classroom, regardless of zip code. Our name now matches the moment. Welcome to CodeAI.
